Mi-Ki Official Breed Standard
Head and Skull
The head should be “apple-domed” with a
well-defined stop. The muzzle length varies from ˝ inch in length, up to
1˝ inch.
Teeth
Level to slightly undershot.
Eyes
Eyes are mostly dark, round, and
prominent. Dark eye rims are preferred, but may be lighter and
self-colored in dilute dogs.
Nose
The nostrils are wide and open, never
pinched. Nose pigment is a black or self-colored in dilute dogs.
Ears
The Mi-Ki ears can be carried erect or
dropped. Both ear types are capable of “winging” their ears when
extremely excited. Both ears must be either erect or dropped. All ears
must be feathered. Very mobile!! Both ear types are acceptable.
Neck
The neck is of medium length, and should
never appear short or thick.
Body
The body is slightly longer than the
height measured at the shoulder. The back line is straight and level.
The chest is of medium depth. The ribs are well sprung.
Forequarters
The well-developed shoulders are laid
back to allow freedom of movement.
Forelegs
The forelegs are always straight and
never bowed. Dewclaws on the forelegs may be removed. Feathering must be
present.
Hind legs
The hind legs are parallel when viewed
from behind. Any dewclaws present on the hind legs must be removed.
Feathering must be present.
Feet
The feet are hare-like in shape, thin
and elongated. When relaxed, the front feet may turn slightly outwards,
but should never interfere with movement.
Height
The height is never to exceed 11 inches
at the shoulders.
