Breed Standards for the Field Spaniel
General Appearance: The black,
liver or roan coat is long, flat, glossy, and silky in texture.
Head: Moderate stop,
almond-shaped, medium-sized eyes, distinct occiput, low-set ears,
long and wide.
Tail: Docked tail slanting
downward when at rest.
Color: Black, liver, roan,
or any of these with tan points.
Size: Height is about 18
inches with the weight from 40 – 55 pounds.
Temperament: Docile,
sensitive, and independent.
