Breed Standards for the Giant Schnauzer

General Appearance: Its body is strong, compact, and nearly square, combining great power with agility.

Head: Rectangular head, oval deep-set eyes, ears may be cropped or uncropped; when uncropped, ears are V-shaped.

Tail: Docked to second or third joint, carried high.

Color: Solid black or pepper and salt.

Size: Height ranges from 23.5 – 27.5 inches and weighs 70 – 77 pounds.

Temperament: Versatile, being strong, hardy, intelligent and vigorous.
