Breed Standards for the Irish Red and White Setter



General Appearance:

Athletic rather than racy, the Irish Red and White Setter is strong and powerful.




The finely textured coat has good feathering.




No height or weight guides are given in the English breed standard, although in Ireland height ranges from 22.5 – 26 inches. Weight tends to be 60 – 70 pounds.




This happy, good-natured dog is affectionate, biddable, highly

intelligent, and a good worker.
